Wisconsin Permanency Roundtables The Permanency Roundtable (PRT) process is a professional consultation designed to expedite permanency for children and youth in out-of-home care through innovative thinking, the application of best practice, and the “busting” of systematic barriers. The process includes required follow-up to ensure steps are being taken to advance the action plan. Purpose, Outcomes, Values Purpose A Permanency Roundtable (PRT) is a structured, professional case consultation resulting in a plan to expedite permanency for a child in care. The PRT process identifies and “busts” systematic barriers to expediting permanency. Expected Outcomes The primary goal for every Permanency Roundtable (PRT) is to achieve legal permanence through Reunification Adoption Guardianship If the child’s permanency status remains the same immediately following the PRT, the expected outcome would be a reduction in the level of restrictiveness of the child’s living situation.
