Angela Lampkin got her start in early education in 1990 when she began working at a Milwaukee child care program geared towards teen moms. It was her first experience in child care as a support person in the infant room, but she was hooked. “I fell in love with the work,” said Angela, “and have been doing it ever since.”

After 6 years in child care, with a 3 Star rating under her belt, Heather is feeling good about where her program is and continuing in YoungStar. After 30 years in child care, overcoming life’s obstacles along the way, Deb wants other child care providers to read her story and realize that no matter their situation, they too can succeed and benefit through YoungStar. “Try it, but keep true to yourselves,” Deb advises. “Open your minds and your eyes to at least listen and see if something else might work for your program.”
