March 19 Child Care Provider Updates

MyWIChildCare Parent Portal Login Changes Coming Soon

Effective March 27, 2026, parents who have a Wisconsin Shares child care subsidy authorization will need a MyWisconsin ID to access the MyWIChildCare Parent Portal.

What is MyWisconsin ID?

DCF and many other State of Wisconsin organizations are moving towards a single personal account (known as MyWisconsin ID) for each parent to secure private access to participating Wisconsin government resources.

With a single account (MyWisconsin ID) parents will be able to access multiple State of Wisconsin applicationsNote: The migration of the applications that require use of a MyWisconsin ID will occur over time. Not all applications/systems have converted to MyWisconsin ID yet.

What Do Parents Need to Do?

  • If they already have a MyWisconsin ID, they are all set. Parents can use that ID to login and access the MyWIChildCare Parent Portal beginning March 27.
  • If they do not have a MyWisconsin ID, they must create a new account to login and access the MyWIChildCare Parent Portal.

DCF encourages all parents with Wisconsin Shares authorizations to use the MyWIChildCare Parent Portal. Parents can use the portal to:

  • Manage their child care authorizations
  • Check the balance on their MyWIChildCare card
  • Sign up to receive text message alerts
  • View notices
  • And much more

Letters were sent to parents on March 16, 2026, to notify them of this change. Please share this information with your families by posting it in your facility or sharing it in your family communications, like newsletters or emails.

Please contact the MyWisconsin ID Account Service Desk with any questions about the MyWisconsin ID: 608-471-6667 – Available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
