DCF Staff can use the following information to access their Windows 10 VDI, follow install instructions by device, and more.

Accessing DCF VDI

If you are trying to access your Windows 10 VDI please make sure you are following the correct instructions below. VDI access requires the use of Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA).

Installation Steps

  1. Exit out of your VDI and close any Omnissa Horizon Client window that are open.
  2. Download the Zoom VDI Helper plugin.

    2. Download Zoom VDI Helper Plugin for MAC OS
    3. For all other OSes: VDI Releases and Downloads
      1. Find the latest version of the plugin installer and select it.
      2. In the drop down, find the version for your physical device's OS.
      3. Click on the link on the right side to download the installer package.
  3. Once the download is complete, install the plugin by double clicking on the file.
    1. Depending on the browser you used, it may be at the bottom of the screen (Chrome, Edge, Internet Explorer) or in a downloads section on the top menu bar (Firefox).
    2. It will also be saved to your Downloads folder on your computer.
    3. Click next through the installation to install in the default location.
  4. Launch the Horizon Client and log into your VDI.

Post Installation Steps

  1. Once back in your VDI, launch Zoom for VDI from your Start Menu.

  2. In the top right corner of the main Zoom window click the DCF logo. DCF logo icon in zoom
  3. Click on Settings.

  4. On the left-hand side, click on Video. Ensure that your video is working.
    1. Notice that your Camera is now the same name as what the physical webcam is called on your physical computer and not the VMware Virtual Webcam.

  5. On the left-hand side of the settings window click on Audio.
    1. From the Audio Settings you can test your speakers and microphone.
    2. Note that the speakers and microphone now reflect the name on your physical computer (it may be different than what is shown in the image below) and not Teradici Virtual Audio Driver or VMware Virtual Audio.

Accessing DCF Resources Remotely

Microsoft Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is required for accessing your VDI and other online resources.

Many DCF resources can be accessed outside of VDI. These websites will use Azure MFA.

Reminder: DCF resources may not be accessed outside the United States.
