Strategic Objectives

  • Identify and improve practice, processes and technologies that will increase the time a caseworker has to work with children, youth, and families
  • Evaluate our workforce system and design a new worker caseworker training model that incorporates evidence-based and promising case management practices that keep families together
  • Improve and develop the Youth Justice infrastructure to support alignment between child welfare system and juvenile system values about what is best for youth and families

Three to Five Major Activities (first part of 2020)

  • Collect and examine information on current workforce challenges/barriers and potential solutions to working directly with children, youth, and families
  • Conduct a systematic assessment of case management activities and processes and identify strengths and gaps in policy, programming, and technology
  • Review state and local data and select an effective framework for training delivery
  • Engage stakeholders and develop a shared vision for each phases of design, development, and delivery of training
  • Conduct needs assessments and identify critical state-level supports needed to develop a robust youth justice system
