Step 1: Child Care Finder website Find us on the DCF Child Care Finder website. Step 2: Enter basic search criteria Enter your address to find providers in your area. You can adjust the radius size as needed. Have a provider in mind? Scroll to the Find a Specific Program section. Then, simply enter the provider’s program name. Step 3: Choose the type of child care Think about what type of child care best fits your needs. You can choose one or all the following: Group: A licensed provider who can care for nine or more children. These are usually in a commercial setting. Family Provider: A licensed or certified provider who can care for four to eight children, which generally takes place in the provider’s home. Day Camps: Licensed seasonal programs that can care for four or more children above age 3. These are usually in an outdoor setting. Step 4: Know your YoungStar rating Time to think about your quality needs and wants. Use the rating guide to get a top-level idea of what the ratings mean.
