2025–2027 Biennial Budget Proposal In February, Governor Tony Evers released his 2025–2027 Executive Budget proposal, which includes critical investments in the child welfare system. These proposed investments would ensure stronger support for the safety and stability of families as well as stronger support for Wisconsin’s child welfare workforce. The Department of Children and Families (DCF) has developed resources for those who want to learn more about the budget; how it helps children, families, and communities thrive; and how to get involved. These resources include: The Division of Safety and Permanence’s (DSP) spring town hall, which was presented by DSP Administrator John Elliott and Deputy Administrator Shelby McCulley and focused exclusively on proposed budget items that would have an impact on the child welfare system. The town hall is now available on our website in both PDF and video formats. DCF’s budget webpage, which offers an overview of the proposed investments and what they would mean for children, families, and the workforce. An informational document that walks through how to testify at a public hearing – a helpful resource for those who want to share their support or stories but are not sure how. Thank you for your interest around the proposed, critical investments in children, families, and communities across the state. Any questions can be sent to the Putting Families First team.
