Fall Town Hall Recording Now Available! The Division of Safety and Permanence’s (DSP) fall town halls were held earlier this month, and for those who were not able to attend or wanted to share the presentation with their teams, the town hall is now available on our website in both PDF and video formats. DSP’s town halls – held every spring and fall – are an opportunity to share updates on current initiatives, highlight the innovative work happening across the state, and look ahead to future efforts. In October’s sessions, DSP Administrator John Elliott and Deputy Administrator Shelby McCulley covered: Continuing, strengthened efforts to place more children with relatives and like-kin when they cannot safely remain in their homes. New trainings for youth justice professionals that better prepare them for the work and engaging with families. Updates on collaborations with system partners, like the Tailored Dispositional Orders Project and a new Motivational Interviewing workgroup. Steps agencies can take today that support local child welfare transformation. Much more! Thank you to those who were able to attend and ask questions, and please feel free to send any questions about the town hall to the Putting Families First team.
