Wisconsin's Opportunity to Transform Early Care and Education Información en español Wisconsin was awarded a Preschool Development Grant Birth to Five (PDG B-5) Renewal, totaling $30 million between January 2021 to December 2023, with an extension in 2024. The PDG B-5 Renewal Grant was based on the strategic plan developed by DCF, the Department of Public Instruction, and other partners, and includes feedback and guidance from the department’s early care and education stakeholders. The department was previously awarded a one-year PDG B-5 Planning Grant to complete a needs assessment and a strategic plan to improve our early childhood state system. The grant focused on the following activities: Attracting and retaining early childhood education professionals Empowering families to make the best choices for their children Building regional networks of support Increasing overall quality of early childhood programs While PDG funding has ended, we hope you'll browse our PDG Partner webpages to see some of the great work we have been able to accomplish. You can also check back here for updates around the program's wrap-up and potential future funding, if applicable. Questions? Email wipdg@wisconsin.gov.
