August 2 Child Care Provider Updates

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Division of Early Care and Education (DECE) will send updates to everyone who has subscribed to the DCF Child Care listserv.

Reminder: July Child Care Counts Application Re-Opened

Last Friday evening there was a Child Care Counts (CCC) system outage that prevented providers from submitting applications before the 11:59 p.m. deadline The issue has been resolved. The July Child Care Counts application has been reopened and will close at 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3.

Please note: this extended application/update period is only for the July application (Count Weeks July 10 – July 23).

If you were unable to access your Child Care Counts application on Friday before the application closed, please log in to the Child Care Provider Portal to update your applications before 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, August 3. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

DECE is Hiring Multiple Positions

DCF/Division of Early Care and Education (DECE) is hiring.

  • Birth to Five Grant Programs Supervisor, in the Bureau of YoungStar
    This position supports several special projects and federal initiatives that impact both the Bureau of YoungStar and the Division of Early Care and Education in general. The deadline to apply for this position is August 7.
  • Two Child Care Subsidy Specialists (one permanent and one LTE position) within the Milwaukee Early Care Administration
    These positions authorize Wisconsin Shares child care subsidy for parents and providers. The deadline to apply for these positions is August 2.
  • Three Preschool Development Grant and ARPA Program and Policy Analyst-Project positions
    These positions will create, refine, and implement policies and programs developed under these funding sources, including the prominent Child Care Counts program. The deadline to apply for these positions is August 14.  
  • The Early Childhood Governance Structure Lead position will serve as the lead for Early Childhood Governance System work. The deadline to apply for this position is August 2.
