Department of Children and Families’ Public Benefit Programs Will Continue During Federal Government Shutdown

(MADISON) – Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) announced today that funding for Wisconsin Shares child care subsidies, Wisconsin Works (W-2) payments, and Kinship Care payments will continue despite the federal government shutdown.

“We want to ensure that families know their needs are our top priority during this time of uncertainty,” said DCF Secretary-designee Emilie Amundson. “At this time, individuals will continue to receive their full benefits with no disruptions.”

The issuance of Adoption Assistance, Foster Care and Subsidized Guardianship payments are not impacted by the shutdown, nor is the processing of child support payments.
