MADISON - The Department of Children and Families (DCF) will host listening sessions on the Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services' (DMCPS) case management contracts over the coming weeks. The sessions are designed to gather public input which may be used in the development of the competitive procurement for new case management contracts. DMCPS administers all child welfare services in Milwaukee County. The purpose of the child welfare system is to keep children safe and to support families to provide safe, permanent, and nurturing homes for their children. DMCPS contracts with external organizations to carry out some of its child welfare functions, in particular case management services. DMCPS currently contracts with two agencies, SaintA and Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin Community Services, for these services. Listening sessions will be held at the following dates and locations around the city of Milwaukee: October 28: 5:30-7:30 PM, Bayview Library, 2566 S. Kinnickkinnic Ave., Milwaukee 53207 October 30: 2:30-4:30 PM, Washington Park Library, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd., Milwaukee 53208 November 4: 5:30-7:30 PM, WI Black Historical Society, 2620 W. Center Street, Milwaukee 53206 November 13: 8:30-10:30 AM, DMCPS, 635 N 26th St., Milwaukee 53233 DCF follows all state procurement requirements - information gathered at the listening sessions may be used by the department to inform the development of a competitive procurement. Consistent with these requirements, all listening sessions are open to all members of the public. Members of the public are also welcome to provide written comments on the questions discussed at these sessions.
