A new web-based training from the Wisconsin Child Welfare Professional Development System (PDS) is now available! Supporting Youth Transition to Adulthood, which provides an overview of independent living requirements and best practices for supporting youth transitioning to adulthood, is now live on PDS Online.

This training:

  • Takes about 1 hour to complete
  • Is made up of short, easy-to-follow modules
  • Covers independent living requirements and best practices
  • Helps staff understand important timelines, roles, and tools
  • Builds skills to support strengths-based, youth-driven planning
  • Is a great fit for anyone working with youth in out-of-home care

Child welfare professionals can use the link above to navigate to and complete the course on PDS Online. The training can also be found anytime under “Web-based Courses” on the PDS website. (Using this link to access the training does not require a PDS Online account.)
