October Child Care Counts Update Period is Closed

The latest payment program update period is closed. Applications for the October Child Care Counts: Stabilization Payment Program are being reviewed. Providers will be notified of their eligibility for funds by November 10, 2023, via a payment letter uploaded to the Child Care Provider Portal.

Child Care Counts Continuation

We know you are wondering about the details regarding Gov. Evers’ recent announcement about directing $170 million in emergency funding to continue Child Care Counts through June 2025. As soon as we have details about this program extension, we will share them with you. Be sure to watch the listserv and the Child Care Counts webpage for updates.

The Division of Early Care and Education, Bureau of Early Care Regulation, is recruiting to fill an Operations Section Manager position. This position is a professional supervisory position responsible for providing management, supervision, coordination, and leadership in the implementation of regulatory activities and quality assurance of child care programs within the bureau. The position oversees the bureau’s central office functions, which include the Child Care Background Check Unit, the information system business automation functions, the bureau’s procedure development, and regulated child care program support functions. This position may allow hybrid work for a portion of the work schedule. The deadline to apply for this position is November 6, 2023.
