What is the Older Refugee Program?

The Older Refugee Program helps elderly refugees who are in need of additional services.

 

Where is the Older Refugee Program available?

The Older Refugee Program is available in counties with at least 25 individuals who are:

  • Age 60 or older;
  • Admitted to the United States as refugees or asylees; and
  • Have not yet obtained citizenship.

 

What services are provided through the Older Refugee Program?

The Older Refugee Program provides individual and group activities to help elderly refugees:

  • Improve their social life;
  • Connect to health care resources;
  • Become a part of their community; and
  • Prepare for citizenship.
