Open Grant Opportunities Milwaukee County Child Protective Services Out-of-Home Care Annual Registration | Due: Varies Synopsis The Division of Milwaukee Child Protective Services (DMCPS) contracts with the out-of-home care providers to provide placement resources for children/youth in Milwaukee County and served by the child welfare system. This is the annual registration to establish contracts with community-based providers for children/youth in need of higher levels of care placements. Services include: Assessment and Stabilization Center, Group Home, Level 3-5 Treatment Foster Homes, and Residential Care Centers. Eligible Applicants In order to receive placement referrals for children/youth under a Temporary Physical Custody (TPC) or Child in Need of Protection and Services (CHIPS) Order, your agency must be licensed appropriately by the State of Wisconsin and the Department of Children and Families (DCF) Child Welfare Licensing Section (CWLS), and you must be contracted with DMCPS. National Reading Program | Due: 3/28/25 or until the funds are exhausted Synopsis The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) Division of Early Care and Education (DECE) is awarding funding to reimburse entities for costs associated with participation in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (DPIL). DPIL is a national reading program that launched nearly 30 years ago and focuses on expanding access to high-quality books and fostering a love of reading among young children and their families. The program gifts high-quality books to children ages birth to five, with books mailed directly to participating families each month. The family bears no cost for participating and there are no family income requirements. Per information gathered on the DPIL website, over 35,000 children in Wisconsin currently receive books. DPIL partners with Local Program Partners (LPPs) to operate the program. LPPs are responsible for advertising the program and enrolling eligible children and families within their designated geographic area. These organizations cover the cost of books, which currently cost $26.00 per year per child. DPIL mails the books directly to the families and negotiates the wholesale price of books and manages the fulfillment process. Any organization interested in becoming a LPP must work directly with the DPIL team to negotiate their geographic service area, and to complete the necessary partnership agreements. This process can take weeks or months. Eligible Applicants Only non-profit entities are eligible to receive grant funds under this program. For purposes of this grant, “non-profit entities” are those organizations meeting the requirements of Section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code. An individual entity can only receive one award under this program. Due Date and Time This program will provide funding on a rolling basis until 3/28/25, or until the total allocation is exhausted, whichever comes first.
