Affirmative Action Exemptions

Certain organizations may qualify for exemption from the Affirmative Action Requirements.

You may be exempt if any of the following apply to your organization:

  • receives less than $50,000 of funding from Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) programs
  • has less than 50 employees
  • is a federal government agency or a Wisconsin county, municipality or public school district
  • the contractor has a balanced workforce, as determined by the Wisconsin Department of Administration (DOA)

If you believe your organizations meets any of the above criteria, a Request for Exemption form must be completed and submitted in lieu of an an Affirmative Action Plan. Form and instructions for completing them, can be found on the DOA Compliance site.
