Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
BECR is responsible for investigating complaint allegations regarding public school programs if the reported allegations appear to be related to rules contained in the Annual Health and Safety Rule Tag. When some or all of the allegations made about a public school program are related to health and safety rules, the intake for those allegations is conducted according to the usual complaint procedures that are in place for licensed programs. These procedures are described in the procedure chapter titled Complaint Investigation – Licensed Facilities.
BECR’s responsibility for complaint follow up only extends to those allegations related to possible violations of health and safety rules. When a complaint is received involving allegations that are not within BECR’s jurisdiction because the allegations are unrelated to health and safety rules, the complaint allegations are referred to the public school program contact person and/or school district representative for follow up, as identified by the school district on the DCF-5155.
