5.8 When There are Non-Serious Crimes or Offenses

A non-serious crime [not identified as a serious crime or offense per  Wis. Stat. § 48.686(1)(c)] includes offenses on the Barred Offenses Table with an action identified with this statement: “If substantially related may be denied” (licensee and applicant only) The CBU must determine whether the offense is substantially related to the care of children or the activities of the child care program. If substantially related, the person is barred.
