Child Care Certification Policy Manual
Revocation means that the operator’s certificate to operate a certified child care program is terminated prior to the expiration date. The authority to impose a revocation is provided under DCF 202.06 and Wis. Stats. 48.686.
There are numerous circumstances that may lead to the revocation of certification. For example:
An operator knowingly provides false information to the certification agency or fails to report required information.
The certification worker learns of a direct threat to the welfare of children in care through a complaint investigation or is notified by a county protective services worker of a pending investigation of alleged child abuse or neglect.
Continued or resumed noncompliance with certification standards.
The Enforcements Module in WISCCRS allows the certification worker to document the basis (or “tag”) for the revocation. Additional guidance regarding the basis for and notice of revocation is provided below.
