Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
When the licensing manager/licensing supervisor determines that a facility should be allowed to reopen, s/he must notify the BECR director and the OLC attorney.
The licensing manager/licensing supervisor typically verbally informs the licensee that the summary suspension is withdrawn and follows this with a letter. A notation explaining the decision to allow the facility to reopen must be uploaded to the facility file along with a copy of the letter sent to the licensee. The notation should also indicate the date, time and who verbally informed the licensee of the decision.
The licensing specialist or licensing manager/licensing supervisor must immediately ensure that all parties who were informed of the Notice of Summary Suspension are told that the facility has been allowed to reopen. It is not necessary for licensing staff to contact parents of children in care at the center. This can be left to the licensee.
