2.4.1 There is NO History with BECR and the Provider is NOT Certified

If the WISCCRS search reveals that the center is not currently licensed, is not currently certified, and there is no BECR history on the center, regional support staff usually handle the complaint investigation through mailed documents.

However, there are two exceptions that require an on-site investigation rather than an investigation through the mail. These are when a provider who was previously certified but had the certification revoked because they had a licensable number of children in care or, when BECR referred a previous complaint about the provider to the certifying agency. In either situation, an on-site investigation by BECR is indicated. The certifying agency has no authority to investigate the complaint because the provider is not currently certified.

2.4.1. There is NO History with BECR and the Provider is NOT Certified

2.4.1.1. If the Provider’s Certification was Revoked Due to a Licensable Number of Children in Care

2.4.1.2. If there has been a Previous Referral to the Certifying Agency Regarding this Currently Uncertified Provider
