Action Needed app

The “Action Needed app” displays tasks recorded on any page of the informal assessment. It allows you to update previously entered items and to enter additional worker or participant items.

Below you can find additional information on:

Case Management Benefits

The “Action Needed app” divides tasks by participant and worker. A printable task list is available for the participant to see the actions they need to take, allowing for increased accountability. Workers can check off tasks when completed.

Managing Tasks from the Informal Assessment or Job Readiness page

As you are completing the informal assessment, WWP allows you to add tasks to keep track of action items for both you and the participant.

The following pages of the informal assessment allow you to add tasks:

  • Transportation
  • Housing
  • Legal Issues
  • Child and Youth Supports
  • Family Barriers
  • Non-Custodial Parents

Additionally, the Job Readiness page allows you to add tasks.

The “Action Needed” section of each page includes a list of suggestion action items that are customized for that particular page. You also have the option to add a custom task under the label “Other”. An example from the “Housing” page is shown below:

Adding or Editing a Task

When you add or edit a task, you will see the following window:

Add or Edit Task

The following fields are required to save the task:

  • Assign To
  • Page
  • Action Item
  • Task
  • Due Date

The “Save” button will be greyed out until you complete all the required fields.

Tasks will always be assigned to “Worker” by default. This means the task is for the case manager to complete. You can change this to “Participant” if the task needs to be completed by the participant.

When creating a task for the participant, keep in mind that the option selected in the “Action Item” dropdown will not be displayed on the participant’s printout. You will need to be descriptive enough in the “Task” field that the participant knows what to do without seeing the “Action Item” text.

If the task does not have a “Due Date”, you can select the “No Due Date” option.

Accessing the Action Needed app

You can access the “Action Needed app” from the “Case Management” menu when a participant is selected, as shown below:
