Wisconsin Works (W-2) Manual
Time limits stress mutual responsibility: the W-2Wisconsin Works program provides services designed to promote employment while participants are expected to prepare for and enter employment. The purpose of the time limits and case management practices encouraging immediate engagement is to ensure participants make progress as quickly as possible toward work in unsubsidized employment. W-2 eligibility has a state lifetime limit of 60 months. Participation in a W-2 employment position (TEMPTrial Employment Match Program, CSJCommunity Service Job, and W-2 TW-2 Transition) is limited to 24-months. The goal of W-2 participation is to raise participants’ employment rates and earnings and reduce reliance on government programs.
