2.10.1 Introduction to Time Limits

Time limits stress mutual responsibility between the W-2W-2Wisconsin Works program and participants.

W-2 eligibility is subject to three time limits:

  • Employment Position 24-Month Limit – W-2 participants can be placed in a W-2 Employment Position (TEMPTEMPTrial Employment Match Program, CSJCSJCommunity Service Job, and W-2 TW-2 TW-2 Transition) for up to 24 months per position. (See 2.10.3)

  • State 48-Month Lifetime Limit – W-2 participants can receive W-2 services for up to 48 months over their lifetime. (See 2.10.2)

  • Federal 60-Month Lifetime Limit – Individuals can receive federal TANFTANFTemporary Assistance for Needy Families cash assistance for up to 60 months. (See 2.10.9)

The goal of W-2 participation is to help participants reach their employment and earnings goals and support growth toward economic self-sufficiency.
