2.6 Deciding How to Conduct the Complaint Investigation - Mail or On-Site

A complaint involving a group child care center or day camp requires an on-site investigation.

The decision about whether a complaint involving a family child care center can be investigated by mailing documents to the provider and requesting their declaration regarding the allegation or whether the complaint requires an on-site investigation by a licensing specialist is based on a number of factors. In some cases, the process may begin with a mail investigation but require a follow-up on-site visit.
