2.4.4 There is NO History with BECR and the Provider IS Currently Certified - Refer Complaint to Certifying Agency for Investigation

When an unlicensed center is currently certified and has no BECR history, BECR does NOT conduct the complaint investigation. Rather, the intake staff person refers the complaint to the appropriate certifying agency through the established procedure with that agency. This may be by e-mail, fax or regular mail, and the date of the referral is entered in WISCCRS. The certifying agency is responsible for conducting the complaint investigation.

No follow-up on-site visit is conducted by BECR to verify that the number of children in care has been reduced and BECR takes no corrective action regardless of the outcome of the certifying agency’s investigation. If the person being investigated indicates that they want information regarding procedures and fees to become licensed, the certifying agency provides that information.
