2.4.4.1 If there has been a Previous Referral to the Certifying Agency Regarding a Currently Certified Provider

Should BECR receive a second (or additional) complaint regarding a currently certified provider with no BECR history, the intake staff person again refers the complaint to the certifying agency. The certifying agency is responsible for investigating the complaint. In addition, the intake staff person alerts the assigned licensing specialist of the additional complaint concerning a currently certified provider. The licensing specialist is encouraged to contact the certifying agency to discuss the complaint. At the discretion of the licensing specialist, they may offer to participate in a joint investigation, to send a license application packet to the provider, provide technical assistance, etc. If BECR is invited to participate in the investigation, the complaint investigation becomes part of BECR history.
