Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
If the licensee has not complied with all the licensing rules during the first six-month probationary period, a second probationary license may be issued. Sometimes this is necessary because the applicant has failed to demonstrate during the first six-month probationary period that s/he can meet all licensure requirements. Before issuing a second probationary license, the licensing specialist must consult with the licensing manager/licensing supervisor. If a second probationary license is to be issued, the BECR regional office collects licensing fees and issues the second six-month probationary license according to the guidelines set forth for issuing the first probationary license.
It is possible that the final decision will be to forego a second probationary license and deny a regular license after the first six-month probationary period. In this case, the Notice of Denial – GCC Checklist Issues found on the BECR Intranet should be completed by the licensing specialist, signed by the licensing manager and issued to the applicant.
If the second six-month probationary license is issued and the probationary licensee fails to demonstrate the ability to meet licensure requirements during the second six-month probationary period, the regular license is denied.
