3.8 - Lifting Suspension or Reopening After Temporary Closure

The certification worker must monitor the date when the operator’s suspension expires or the temporary closure date expires and assess whether the violation(s) identified in the suspension notice have been corrected, pending charges have been disposed of, or other conditions associated with the suspension or temporary closure have been resolved.

The certification worker will need to conduct a site visit to verify that any violations have been corrected, as specified in the notice and/or Noncompliance Statement and within the designated time frame. When the certification worker has determined that a suspended and/or temporarily closed program should be allowed to re-open the worker should send the operator a letter explaining the decision to lift the suspension and/or allow the program to reopen. The Certification SharePoint site also has a template (optional) “permit to reopen” letter. It is critical WISCCRS be updated (category status and details in enforcement module) to reflect the operator’s change in status.
