The WISCCRS User Guides –Creating a New Provider Record and Various Changes in Provider / Facility Records provides detailed instructions to certification workers when entering or modifying hours of operation and ages served.
The hours of operation shall not exceed 16 hours in any 24 hour time period. An operator who requests to be approved for 24-hour care must meet the following guidelines in order for an exception request to be considered/approved:
The request must be in writing.
There must be a second qualified provider approved by the certification agency, who will be in charge for the hours beyond 16. The second provider must meet SIDS, AHT/SBS and pre-service training requirements. (See Module 5 - Training).
The operator must track the work schedules indicating when the second provider is in charge. The schedule must include days, dates and times. DCF 202.08 (5) (j) The operator shall maintain documentation of the actual hours that a provider who is not also the operator has worked.
The operator must review with the provider the information required under DCF 202.08(4m)(e).

The certification worker shall take care to ensure the Ages Served complies with SIDS and SBS requirements outlined in Module 5 – Training.
