3.5.1 Eligibility Determination When a Child is Added

When a newly eligible child (see 4.3) is timely added to an ongoing case, verification requirements are completed and eligibility is confirmed, CWW will establish a new eligibility period and a new renewal date to be the first month following the eligibility determination month plus 12 additional months. Existing eligible children on the case can have their renewal date extended to align with the newly added child’s eligibility period. The agency worker must document in case comments, the eligibility determination details of when an eligible child is added and the renewal date is extended (see 12.1).

An eligible child who turned 13 or 19 (with a verified disability and not physically or mentally capable of caring for themselves) during the eligibility period (see 4.3), will not have their renewal date extended when an eligible child is added to the case and will become either an Included Child (IC) or an Excluded Child (XC) after the original renewal date.
