Wisconsin Works (W-2) Manual

9.1 Whole Family Services

W-2 workers are responsible for supporting participants and their families throughout their involvement in the W-2 program. It is essential workers understand that each W-2 group is unique and their circumstances and needs may change throughout their participation in W-2.

Individuals participating in W-2 face a variety of barriers that may impact program participation, including, but not limited to:

  • Finding safe, affordable, and reliable childcare;
  • Physical and mental health challenges;
  • Transportation;
  • Housing instability;
  • Family crisis;
  • Domestic violence, etc.

This chapter includes resources agency workers can use to support participants and their families, including supportive services plans, family stabilization payments, and transportation assistance.
