3.2 BECR Response to Information Provided on the CFS-856

If all information submitted by the responder on the CFS-856 is complete and there are no internal inconsistencies in the information contained in the form, and appropriate fees are enclosed, the regional staff person responsible for sending the DC-1 letter/CFS-856 determines the next steps based on the information supplied on the CFS-856. If the provider discloses that they are certified, the regional staff person should forward a copy of the CFS-856 to the certifying agency, or call. The certifying agency should be informed that there was a complaint and that the provider indicated they are certified and operating legally, or illegally, as the case may be.

3.2.2 Provider is Operating Legally and Wants to Apply for a License (Checked Box 2)

3.2.3 Provider is Operating Illegally but Agrees to Reduce the Number of Children in Care and Does Not Want a License (Checked Box 3)

3.2.3.1 On-Site Visit to Verify the Number of Children in Care Has Been Reduced

3.2.4 Provider is Operating Illegally but Agrees to Reduce the Number of Children in Care and Wants to Apply for a License (Checked Box 4)
