6.2 Interviewing

Interviewing is the bread and butter of all complaint investigations. Witnesses and collateral contacts are usually the most valuable sources of information. Witnesses are those people who have first-hand knowledge of the situation described in the complaint. Collateral contacts are those who may have experience or knowledge about the operation of the center but do not have first-hand knowledge of the allegation under investigation. When interviewing, the licensing specialist should:
