Child Care Certification Policy Manual
The certification worker has authority and responsibility to investigate complaints that involve an alleged violation of certification administrative rules. The certification worker shall screen complaints to determine 1) whether the allegation(s) meets the definition of a complaint (see section 1.1.) and, therefore, falls within agency’s regulatory authority to investigate, or 2) the appropriate unit or agency to conduct the investigation. If regulatory authority to investigate the complaint does not exist and the certification agency does not have jurisdiction to investigate the complaint, the certification worker notifies the complainant either by phone or in writing. The certification worker then deletes the complaint from WISCCRS, if entered.
