Child Care Certification Policy Manual
Applications for in-home child care may be accepted / processed when the certification worker has received verification from the subsidy agency / unit that the family has been approved for in-home child care. Eligibility for in-home child care authorizations is determined by an economic assistance worker. See the Wisconsin Shares Child Care Policy and Process Handbook – Chapter 13 for eligibility criteria for in-home authorizations. Certification applications for in-home child care may not be accepted / processed if the applicant is not / will not be caring for an eligible / authorized family. There may be exceptions to this policy if the family qualifies for some alternate source of funding/subsidy that requires an in-home provider to be certified.
See Section 3.12.1 regarding relocation of in-home child care.
