Protecting Children, Strengthening Families, Building Communities

The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) has joined the statewide campaign to strengthen children and families in a novel way – with the launch of a community-wide license plate campaign. In partnership with the Celebrate Children Foundation, DCF is calling on you to purchase a Celebrate Children license plate which supports increased access to education, programs and services designed to strengthen families across Wisconsin.

Human trafficking is the world’s fastest growing criminal activity, estimated by the United Nations to be a $32 billion-a-year global enterprise. It’s easy to think this is just an international problem and not happening in our own backyard, but it happens here every day to Wisconsin residents. To help raise awareness of this horrible crime, Governor Scott Walker has proclaimed January as Human Trafficking Awareness Month.

The Wisconsin Department of Children and Families (DCF) recently expanded its communication channels to include a new Twitter account aimed at providing Wisconsin families, foster youth, agency partners, and interested citizens with timely information about DCF efforts to improve the economic and social well-being of Wisconsin’s children, youth and families.

“By providing this additional communication resource, we hope that families will have better knowledge of the services offered by the Department and our partners,” said DCF Secretary Eloise Anderson.
