The maximum gross income limit for cases after initial eligibility has been established is 85% of the State Median Income (SMI).
These amounts were effective March 1, 2026. 85% SMI and the corresponding Federal Poverty Level (FPL) are updated annually. The current SMI amounts are published on the How to Apply for Wisconsin Shares webpage.
