Wisconsin Department of Children and Families Wisconsin Works (W-2) Manual |
The W-2 agency must investigate all good cause claims based on anticipated harm, even if the applicant or participant does not submit corroborative evidence or the evidence is unavailable. (See 15.6.4)
If corroborative evidence is submitted, but the applicant or participant’s statement and corroborative evidence do not provide enough information for the W-2 agency to make a determination, the W-2 agency may still investigate the good cause claim.
Before making a final decision on the good cause claim, the W-2 agency must:
1. Provide the Child Support Agency (CSA) an opportunity to review and comment on the agency’s findings; and
2. Take any CSA recommendations into account before making the final determination.
