14.3.2  Participation Requirements for Second Parent in a Household Not Receiving Wisconsin Shares

If the W-2 two-parent household is not receiving Wisconsin Shares, the second parent is not required to participate in W-2 activities. However, the second parent may choose to participate in W-2 activities that are recommended, but not required by, the W-2 agency.

If the second parent chooses to voluntarily participate in W-2 activities, the W-2 agency must provide an opportunity to do so.

The FEP must work with both parents to identify and assign W-2 activities that accommodate the needs and schedules of families not receiving Wisconsin Shares.

EXAMPLE: Leticia and Tom are part of a W-2 two-parent household that does not receive Wisconsin Shares. The family has two children who are in school on weekdays from 8:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Tom is placed in a CSJ and is participating in work training experience from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Leticia is interested in participating in W-2 activities to earn her GED. To accommodate the family’s schedule, their FEP recommends Leticia take a course Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m., while the children are in school.
