The final step in processing the EA application is making the payment. This step must also be completed within ten working days after the EA application is received, unless a Payment Delay applies. (See 5.4.2 and 5.4.3) Refer to Chapter 5 for information on determining payment amount and guidelines for issuing payments.
As with eligibility decisions, payments must be issued as quickly as the situation allows. (See 1.3.1) The full ten working days timeframe must only be used in scenarios where the situation required an eligibility decision late in the timeframe. EA Comments must document rationale.
