1.1.1 Emergency Assistance Overview

Emergency Assistance (EA) is one of Wisconsin’s TANFTemporary Assistance for Needy Families programs. The program provides a payment to eligible families who are experiencing an emergency due to fire, flood, or natural disaster, impending homelessness, homelessness, or energy crisis. EAEmergency Assistance is one of many housing and emergency resource programs.

Statutory provisions for Emergency Assistance are included in Wisconsin Statutes under Chapter 49, Public Assistance and Children and Family Services. EA Administrative Rules are found in DCF 120 of the Wisconsin Administrative Rules.
