Notes Column Codes

L -- "Life of Case Payment"  

This is the amount of support sent to your family when the paid support is more than the cash benefits your family received. The state will not keep more support than the total amount of the cash benefits your family has ever received.

P -- "Passthrough Support"

This is the amount of paid support that is sent to your family. When your family began receiving cash benefits from the W-2The "Wisconsin Works" program, which replaced AFDC. See http://dcf.wisconsin.gov/w2/wisworks.htm or SSI Caretaker SupplementSupplemental Security Income Caretaker Supplement: This program provides a monthly cash benefit to SSI recipients to support their dependent children. See http://www.dhs.wisconsin.gov/ssi/caretaker.htm programs, the parent "assigned" (signed over) his or her rights to child support to the state as a condition for receiving cash benefits.

Assigned child support includes current support that is paid while your family is receiving cash benefits from W-2 or SSI Caretaker Supplement . It may also include support that was not paid before and during the time your family received cash benefits. If your family receives cash benefits from W-2 or the SSI Caretaker Supplement, part of the current support paid is sent to your family. R -- "Retained Support"

This is the amount of collected support the state keeps to pay back the cash benefits your family received from the W-2 or the SSI Caretaker Supplement programs. When your family started getting cash benefits from the W-2 or SSI Caretaker Supplement programs, the parent "assigned" (signed over) to the state their rights to child support in order to receive cash benefits.

The state uses some of your family's assigned child support to pay back the federal government for your family's cash benefits. Assigned child support includes current support paid while your family receives W-2 or SSI Caretaker Supplement.
