Interstate Cases

The child support agency (CSA) will attempt interstate/intergovernmental enforcement when another state (or "tribunal") has jurisdiction over an NCP and/or his or her assets, and direct efforts to enforce a support order have failed or are not appropriate. Wisconsin must also accept cases from another state, tribe, or country. In these instances the following information will appear on the case summary screen:

Case Number This is the Wisconsin child support case number assigned to the cases related to this court case.
State Asking for Enforcement This is the state that is asking another state to provide enforcement services because the payer, the payer's assets, and/or the child support order are in the other state.
State Responsible for Enforcement This is the state that is being asked to provide enforcement services because the payer, the payer's assets, and/or the child support order are located in the state.
