Getting Started – Understanding CSOS Screens

Selecting the information you want to view is easy in CSOS. You may select what you want to view by clicking on the links in the drop down menus and selecting KIDS case or court case information using the section buttons, display screens and radio buttons.

Each screen has selection options which allow you to change the information you are reviewing. Options available depend on whether you are a paying parent or a payee. For example, the paying parent will have a Payment Coupon option that the payee does not.

Using the Menu

Each menu item has selection options which allow you to view or edit the information you are reviewing. Options available depend on whether you are a paying parent or a payee. For example, the paying parent will have a Payment Coupon option that the payee does not. Click on “Financial”, "Case Info", "Contact Info", or "Help" in the menu. A drop down menu will appear, and you may select one of the options to edit or view information. Under Help you can access CSOS Help for detailed help documentation. There is also screen level help for all screens. This is denoted by the Help icon located in the upper right hand corner of the screen. For some screens, there is field level help. This is denoted by the Help icon located on the right hand side of the screen above the related item.

Selection Screens

When you request information from CSOS, you select what you want to view by clicking the link in the drop down menu, then select the KIDS Case or Court Case from the Select a KIDS Case or Select a Court Case list. If you have only one KIDS Case or Court Case, the case information will auto display once you select the link from the drop down menu. If you have more than one KIDS Case or Court Case and want to view another case, click the Select new KIDS Case or Select new Court Case button and the list of cases will appear for you to choose another case.

Financial Screens

View Payments

You may view payments to you and payments from you by clicking on the View Payments link in the Financial menu. The payments screen will default to Payments to Me or Payments from Me. Payments made to all of your cases within the last 30 days will auto display.

If you are both a custodial parent and a non-custodial parent, the screen will default to Payments To Me within the last 30 days for all cases. To view payments that you made for your case, select the Payments from Me radio button to display payments you have made for your case(s) within the last 30 days. For both Payments To Me and Payments From Me, if no payments were made within the last 30 days, select another time period (Last 60 Days, Last 90 Days, Current Year to Date, by year for the past five years) by clicking the drop down menu in the parameter box, then hit the red submit button.

Once the payments are displayed, you may search for payments by Date, Amount, Payer, Source and Court Case by typing the information you want in the Search Box. To sort specific data (i.e. Date, Amount, Payer, Source, Court Case) in the list in ascending or descending order, click the arrow next to the column header. The screen will default to descending order.

Select a Specific Case

If no payments are displayed, select another time period by clicking the drop down menu in the parameter box, then hit the red submit button. You may see payments made to other debts on the case that are not owed to you.

On the Select KIDS Case list, you may search for the KIDS Case, Other Participant, Case Type, Court Case, Agency by typing the information you want in the Search Box. To sort specific data (i.e. KIDS Case, Other Participant, Case Type, etc.) in the list in ascending or descending order, click the arrow next to the column header. The screen will default to descending order.

Once you have chosen the case you want to view, you may sort the payment information for each column (Date, Amount, Debt, Source, Notes) in either ascending or descending order by clicking the arrow next to the column header. The screen will default to descending order. You may also search for a payment by Date, Amount, Debt, Source and Notes by typing what you are looking for in the Search box.

All Balances will be displayed as of the first day of the current month and as of the current date.
