3.2 Observation of Violations Not Included in the Annual Health and Safety Rule Tag

The public school program is required to meet all applicable child care licensing standards, although it is the rules contained in the Annual Health and Safety Rule Tag that are the subject of BECR’s monitoring visit. The licensing specialist may observe a violation of a rule that is not included in the Annual Health and Safety Rule Tag. The licensing specialist does not cite a violation that is unrelated to a health and safety rule but should verbally point out the violation to staff and can offer technical assistance on ways to address and correct the violation. The licensing specialist should also remind program staff that public school programs are expected to meet all applicable child care licensing standards.
