Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
Because all rules contained in the Annual Health and Safety Rule Tag must be reviewed annually, the licensing specialist must consider the following options if it is not possible to observe compliance with all of the required rules on the day of the annual visit:
The licensing specialist may return for a second, follow up visit when compliance with those particular rules can be observed. The licensing specialist should announce the follow up visit and explain what will be reviewed to ensure that the rule(s) can be monitored on this second visit.
The licensing specialist can determine that certain rules, such as rules related to reporting requirements, can be discussed with the public school program staff in charge on that day. These rules can then be marked as met since the program was not observed to be out of compliance on the day of the visit. If desired, the licensing specialist may document in the Internal Comments field that the rule was discussed and who was present for the discussion.
