Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
The licensing specialist determines the date by which the licensee must return the CFS-294 with a correction plan that identifies the expected completion date for each violation cited. The licensing specialist enters the return date in the Date Correction Plan Due field. In most cases, the maximum time frame allowed should be 14 calendar days from the date the licensee receives the CFS-294. However, when determining this date, the licensing specialist should take into consideration how difficult the correction of the violation(s) will be to accomplish and may consider a longer time frame in certain situations. For example, when:
A board of directors or church council must give prior approval for the expenditure necessary to accomplish a specific correction plan, or
A series of bids must be obtained prior to a renovation.
The licensing specialist must monitor the return date and may grant a reasonable extension at his/her discretion when requested by the licensee for a good reason, such as, for example, vacation or illness.
