Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
Once new background check requirements have been implemented for child care center existing staff, BECR CBU staff may issue a CFS-294 if the licensee fails to comply with the background check provisions that require annual and five-year background check requests. For example, if the licensee does not meet required fingerprint requirements within 30 days of receipt of the “Notice to Fingerprint Existing Staff” letter, the CBU will issue a CFS-294 identifying the violation and the required correction plan. The CBU enters the violation and identifies the visit as a desk review in WISCCRS. If necessary, when the licensee does not correct the violation, a warning letter or an enforcement action may be issued. The licensing specialist will be copied on these notices and the licensing specialist and the licensing manager/licensing supervisor will be included in any deliberations that may result in issuance of a revocation.
