Child Care Licensing Procedure Manual
The licensing specialist may decide that a violation that is immediately corrected while s/he is on-site should be documented on the CFS-294, even though no further corrective action is expected on the part of the licensee. In this case, the licensing specialist cites the violation and writes “Corrected during the visit.” immediately following the rule violation description. The licensee can then complete the correction plan section indicating what was done or will be done to prevent reoccurrence. The expected completion date and the verification date is the site visit date.
If one or more of the violations cited on the CFS-294 are immediately corrected, but one or more of the other violations cited on the CFS-294 remain uncorrected, the licensing specialist notes the correction dates next to the corrected violations and for the remaining, uncorrected violations, the licensing specialist must monitor the return of the CFS-294 and assess the acceptability of the correction plan as usual.
Because the violations are documented on the CFS-294, even if all cited violations are corrected during the site visit, a CFS-785 is not issued. The CFS-294 reflecting the violation and the correction is posted. During the exit interview, the licensing specialist can indicate that the violation was cited, but has been noted as corrected and no further corrective action is required, assuming that is the case.
